Arzu means "hope" in Dari - hope for widows in Afghanistan who have been left with nothing in the wake of war. Arzu is a non-profit that acts as a conduit between Afghan rug weavers and U.S. rug buyers, giving the women twice the return for their work. Additional monies are used for education and healthcare.

The Arzu story was recently featured in Forbes magazine.
